Terrorism

Once I read an article about terrorists, they said that people who are good in mathematics and science are likely to be a terrorist as they are more interested in machines. While I think that they should not give such statement because I am a person, who is better in mathematics and science, but I am not interested in machines and I do not have such intention of being a terrorist as I have no offence with the world.

I also found out that the terrorist have turned up in some air shows to be able to buy drones, so the drones can help in defeating the enemies. This could be a very crucial thing to take note. This can cause a lot of trouble. However, I think that the creator also have some fault as I think whenever u create something which is very good in the war, something should be created to be able to stop the thing, so if someone use it against yourself, they have no problem stopping.

I think that terrorist is a very big problem and should be stop as soon as possible.

Internet addict

Ever since the 20th century, where the technology has been very good, people start trying to do most of the things with the internet. Like facebook or twitters, people have been using this internet server, just like in the school; people have been using facebook to play games talk to friends this sort of things. I realized that they are quite addicted to those games like mousehunt; they play it every day once they goes home, they even plays it in school causing the school to go through lots of trouble.

Also when there is internet, people will have some illegal things to share with other people, like free music, free videos. This can cause the person who created the things to lose their business like the singer got less albums sold out. There is something like manga fox for people to read anime, this can cause the people not be able to sell their books. From what I know, there are some people who are addicted to watching anime and once they reaches home; they will watch anime until midnight.

So I think that the people have been addicted to the technologies created.

Intra Personal

Now, I will be writing to you about the intrapersonal assignment. The question is: Who would you want to be friends with in the novel? Explain.

If it was me, I will want to make friend with Jem. This is because I feel that he is more mature and will not get into much trouble unlike Scout; she likes to tell people what she is thinking, causing her to get into much trouble like on the first day of school, she was scolded by Caroline Fisher. Besides that, I think that Jem is easy to get along, like how he gets along with Dill.

interpersonal

When I took the Multiple Intelligence Test, I found out that I am better in intrapersonal and kinaesthetic. But since there is no assignment for kinaesthetic, I will be doing on intrapersonal had a interview with my sister and the conversation is shown below.

Me: What are your views on prejudice and discrimination? Give examples.

Sister: I think that there should not be prejudice and discrimination on this earth, not only between the different coloured people, but also between rich and poor. This kind of prejudice is unacceptable as it will hurt the feelings of the people and there will be a bigger gap between the different people. An example of such prejudice is like the people telling racist jokes, usually about Indians. Another example is when people look at other people, they look at how they dress, if they look poor, they will give an unpleasant look at those people.

I took the Multiple Intelligence Test today,as shown above is my learning profile, the results shows that i am better in intrapersonal and kinesthetic. i will be telling you about my feelings after taking the test.

In th test, there will be many questions, which in the end leads to a result. The result is like the one above. There are 8 intelligences. They include Linguistic , Logical, Interpersonal , Intra-personal , Musical , Visual/Spatial , Naturalistic and Kinesthetic .

i think the result is accurate and reliable, as i am very intra-personal and kinesthetic person. i am very active and will want to try new stuff. However, i am not very sociable person, i would like to do stuff by myself.

Favourite poet

I like a particular poet named Billy Collins. I like this poet as I think he is extraordinary from all the other poets. He can deeply express his feelings in the poems. He also was a finalist for the Lenore Marshall Poetry Prize; Questions About Angels (1991), which was selected by Edward Hirsch for the National Poetry Series. This makes me curious on how good he is. I went to view his poems and found out that his poem is really very good and well written. This makes me want to find out more about him.
Thesis
I feel that Billy Collins so that people can know where he is in the poem, but not where he is going. It can tell the reader what he is feeling and expresses it in his poem. He does hide things in the poem. I think he is deeply troubled also as his writes poem like The Art of Drowning, The Trouble with Poetry

Poem analysis

Still I Rise by Maya Angelou
You may write me down in history
With your bitter, twisted lies,
You may trod me in the very dirt
But still, like dust, I'll rise.

Does my sassiness upset you?
Why are you beset with gloom?
'Cause I walk like I've got oil wells
Pumping in my living room.

Just like moons and like suns,
With the certainty of tides,
Just like hopes springing high,
Still I'll rise.

Did you want to see me broken?
Bowed head and lowered eyes?
Shoulders falling down like teardrops.
Weakened by my soulful cries.

Does my haughtiness offend you?
Don't you take it awful hard
'Cause I laugh like I've got gold mines
Diggin' in my own back yard.

You may shoot me with your words,
You may cut me with your eyes,
You may kill me with your hatefulness,
But still, like air, I'll rise.

Does my sexiness upset you?
Does it come as a surprise
That I dance like I've got diamonds
At the meeting of my thighs?

Out of the huts of history's shame
I rise
Up from a past that's rooted in pain
I rise
I'm a black ocean, leaping and wide,
Welling and swelling I bear in the tide.
Leaving behind nights of terror and fear
I rise
Into a daybreak that's wondrously clear
I rise
Bringing the gifts that my ancestors gave,
I am the dream and the hope of the slave.
I rise
I rise
I rise.

1. The poet used mostly simile in his poem, he is using the poem to tell people that he will still rise no matter how hated by people he is. The poet uses it to elaborate on how he will still rise.
E.g. 1.like dust I’ll rise
2.'Cause I walk like I've got oil wells
3. Just like moons and like suns, with the certainty of tides, just like hopes springing high, still I'll rise.
4. Shoulders falling down like teardrops.
5. 'Cause I laugh like I've got gold mines Diggin' in my own back yard.
6. Like air, I'll rise.
7. I dance like I've got diamond at the meeting of my thighs

2. I like this poem done by Maya Angelo due his constant using of simile to elaborate on what he is writing on and making the poem sound fun and exciting. The poem also rhythms so it sounds very creative, it is just like music in my ears. It also tells people that people that we should not have negative feeling just because you were being dreaded by people, we must still continue with life and still rise. The use of simile is also creative in how he describes how he will still rise. I also think it is extraordinary than other poems. So this is why I like this poem is better than the other.
