This article is a character driven story as the article tells us about what people usually say when calling 999. The people in the article called the police for the situation, not related to the police, calling for information or when there is not even such thing happening. These pranksters are making the job of the policemen hard. These pranksters can also cause a logjam and when real crime is happening, the victim cannot contact the policemen resulting in troubles. There had been 1.5 million of calls last year and almost more than fifty percent of the calls are nuisance calls. From such incident, we can conclude that Singaporeans are inconvenience and do not think of other’s feeling. They should think,” what if they were the policemen working in night shift and they were continuously receiving nuisance calls, after awhile, they will surely be very irritated by the nonsense.” They should also not call for small matters as they can handle these matters by themselves, if another more important incident happens at the same time, which will cause trouble. Calling to find out the telephone number is also inappropriate. I think that these peoples should stop the pranks and think of the policemen’s feelings. This way, Singapore can be more peaceful place.
